And designing alternative methods, processes and ways of operating with purpose. Our team is working to be those people.

Designing the future with David Johnston

Listen to this thought-provoking conversation between Accept & Proceed Founder David Johnston and DashDigital on ‘Designing the Future’.

“When you think about a brand system or the design work that you actually create you're actually bringing into the world language and symbols which fundamentally change the way we behave in the world around us. That's a superpower – it's a dark art, and it comes with a responsibility.”

B-corp recertification score: 101.1

We’ve received our B-corp recertification with an accreditation score of 101.1. We’re feeling grateful and proud of the collaborative efforts of our team and our partners.

Looking back to our first B-Corp certification in 2020, we’ve come a long way. We’ve evolved our knowledge, interrogated our operations, raised our bar. And we’ve asked ourselves, every day, how we can use the power of design to generate positive environmental and social impact with our partners and within our communities.

We won’t settle here. Acknowledging the responsibility that comes with B-Corp status, this milestone energises us, strengthens our resolve, and keeps us focused fearlessly forwards.

Into the future, we commit to more evolution, more interrogation, more bar-raising. We commit to more self-analysis, more amplification and acceleration of impact in our networks. We commit to caring, for one another, for our work, for our planet. We’ll continue to move with urgency, create with necessity and design for the future.

Open Call: Introducing Pool of Contention

As part of the The___Dream, the House team and David Johnston have collaborated to shape the Pool of Contention.

Shining a spotlight on co-creation, our community is encouraged to submit a confession in the form of an audio. Paired with this, we ask that you also set an intention, aligned with the future you want to be part of. Then, the pool becomes the medium and the message — hosting, echoing and releasing this plural amalgamation of confessions.

Both a collective and an individual experience, ‘Pool of Contention’ blurs the lines between introspection and liberation; private and communal; memory and intention; past and future.

Creative Session at A&P

Coinciding with Women’s History Month, we hosted a creative session, dedicated to women, at our A&P studio. Wary of creating a box-ticking exercise, we designed this session as the first of a series of open spaces for us to collectively call ourselves to account on bias and unthinking, and contribute to awareness. The session kicked off with an enlightening share from the Strategy team, exploring the origins of the gender gap. The Design team then facilitated a richly inspiring team-wide share of creative women. The session ended with a prompt, for team members to contribute practical ideas to turn these principles into actions, showing up in our growth as individuals, our capabilities as a studio, our co-creations with partners, and our contributions as citizens.

Let’s be conscious - today and every day.

2021 Partnerships

"They say 'you’re only as good as your last job.' I’d counter that with 'consistency is the true mark of a pro' as anyone can get lucky once or twice. The big question is, how do you get lucky, time and time again? It’s about who you collaborate with. It’s about what you expect from the partnership, and what they want from you in return. As a B Corp, at A&P we partner with visionaries—people who wanna upset the status quo, people who want to peel the edges of the sticker to see what lies underneath. Here’s a selection of people and projects we got lucky with last year." - Mat Jones, Executive Creative Director
